How do I remove a lofted part whilst still merging another part with it?

I wanted to create some glasses, but they contain complex curves which I don't really know how to make. So I create a lofted part that is the correct shape and transformed the 'un-curved' glasses frame into it. However, it seems you cannot delete a lofted part whilst still merging it. I don't know how else to create this shape. Please help  :)

Thank you billy2 for the suggestions, but I have found a way to make the correct shape. Thanks though.  :)
