flatten sheet metal
I do more flattening than sheet metaling.
I'm trying to stretch the boundaries for sheet metal flattening. A couple of years ago I was schooled in ruled based surfaces and what it means to flatten these things out. I've read the OS sheet metal manual and can make a sheet metal part using all methods.
But....
My sketch has a spline, line & arc, extruded into a surface, made into sheetmetal & flattening succeeds:
Add draft to the surfaces and the flattening fails:
I believe they're still ruled surfaces but OS doesn't like them now, have I reached a cliff?
