Order parts created by split?

marc_lepagemarc_lepage Member Posts: 2
I am splitting one part into two by a surface. It makes two parts as desired, Part 1 and Part 2. No problem so far.

However, I want to rename them Part B and Part A, because A is primary and B is secondary. Again, no problem.

But if I do that, I have Part B before Part A in my parts list, because Part 1 becomes Part B and Part 2 becomes Part A.

Instead, I want Part A to come before Part B in my parts list.

Is there any way I can control the order the parts are created by the split?

No there is not. The order of the parts list in a Part Studio does not matter. When you create an assembly, you can reorder them in the tree so that your BOM is ordered how you like it.

Thanks. In the end I redid everything with another technique, and did not use split, so it's in the desired order now.

I would also like to be able to re-order parts in the parts list. I'll submit an IR for it.
