Threads in Drawings

frank_ringfrank_ring Member Posts: 42 ✭✭
Hello,
Is it possible to show threads in drawings with a 3/4 circle in top view,
or with correctly arranged lines in sectional view?
Thank's for your help.
Frank

Onshape only supports cosmetic threads with holes created by the hole feature.

External threads you will need to create a cosmetic thread yourself or cut a thread into the part.

Thank you John for your feedback
It would be good to follow the specifications of DIN ISO 6410-1 for thread representations.
There should be a circle function, so that the 3/4 circle could be represented. A line function already exists.

Why though? This is such a major feature to be STILL missing from OnShape. Everyweek I find something that I would expect to have in a professional CAD software

They have a working list of priorities.
The best way to get something moved up the list of important features is to stay vocal about it, get more users to upvote and be vocal themselves, create or up vote improvement requests, or reach out directly through the 'contact support' feature in Onshape.

By being a pro member your votes have more weight also

This is sort of why I am not a pro user.  OnShape needs to improve to a pro level system first.
