Get cross-sectional area from sketch?

I'd like to get the exact cross-sectional area on a plane from a general, possibly very contorted, 3D part.
I have, or can get, a sketch for the cross-section.
Question is... Can I use a sketch to get the cross-sectional area?

    Yes just select the face created by the sketch and look in the bottom right corner. Even quicker would be to split the part with the plane then select the face that’s created.

    Never needed it before, so didn't remember I'd seen this before, but there it is---the exact area measurement for a selected region of a sketch! This will do :)
