History Tree

In the education realm it is necessary to be able to (turn off / hide) sketches and models applications.  Inventor does a very good job at letting an educator turn off and hide sketches and models on an component, subassembly and assembly.  When is Onshape going to program a similar feature for Education and Industry?  Really starting miss nice features that Inventor has and Onshape does not.  Ugh!

As an educator teaching 3D parametric solid modeling it is vital that one be able to turn off and turn or / hide sketches and model features to bridge the cognitive connection.

In the example provided, I need to be able to turn off / on - hide a single command in the tree, a combination of any of these and or all of these from "sketch 2 through sweep2."

Is OS going to look at the programming to add this revision?

Thanks

You can try right click > suppress on a feature to prevent it from regenerating.

Not sure I understand the question Rod.
When you hover over anything that can be hidden in the feature tree or parts list and EYE shows. When you click on the eye the feature hides or shows. I use this regularly especially when mid function and things have got to busy to see thru clearly. While collaborating individuals can turn visibility on or off with out affecting the others view.

To hide the curves click the eye icon on the curves folder in the parts list. It is not possible to hide (other than suppress) a solid feature.

Also unless you are 3D printing that part it is not good practice to model the threads.

@rod_muirhead943 - Another thing you might try is using the "Preview slider bar" located in the feature edit dialogues.  When adding or editing a feature, there's a little "slider" at the bottom of the box. Slide it to the left and the new feature fades out. Slide it to the right and the feature becomes visible.

This could be an alternative to suppressing/un-suppressing individual features.
