Replace component in assembly

Is there a command where you can replace a component in an assembly? I have a stock cylinder of some length mated into my design, and I just want to replace it with a different stock cylinder. In SW, the "replace component" command replaces the component and updates all the mates automatically.

You can update in the Part Studio and create multiple parts of different sizes, as we described in https://forum.onshape.com/discussion/652/standard-parts-what-is-the-best-way-to-reuse-them

Have you already introduced the requested feature? Is there any faster way to replace the component, rather than insert it from the beginning?
Still waiting for the replace part feature..
Had to redo two assemblies completely just now to change two parts that needed to be replaced.
And no, they could not have versions or variants, because it required entirely different parts.
