How do I import a 3D DXF file to use?

paul_brittonpaul_britton Member Posts: 37 ✭✭✭
I have some 3D DXF files that are wireframe models. I want to use this data to build solid models from.
How do I do it in Onshape please?

    I don't think we have support for 3d dxf import. At least not yet.

    This is not the simplest conversion due to different nature of two worlds..
    You can try following workaround, no guarantee that it will work in your case:

    3d dxf --> stl
    http://dgntodwgdxf.videoformat-converter.com/convert-dxf-to-stl.html

    stl --> step

    If you get your files into step or parasolid format, Onshape will convert automatically during import.

    I would try acis. That conversion should be possible in other systems. Then we can read ACIS
