Problem/bug scaling DXF sketch using a variable

JavierGATJavierGAT Member Posts: 2
Hi all,

I have a problem when trying to scale a sketch from a DXF using a dimension with a configuration variable that I don't get if I write directly the value of that variable in the dimension. If I use directly the value, 50 mm, in the field of the dimension, the sketch scales correctly. But if I use a variable instead, it just moves one of the segments/splines that define that dimension, but the rest keeps the same. It's not a big deal, as I can directly write the value in the sketch instead of the variable, but I guess in a bigger and more complex model it could be a real pain. I don't know if making the end points of each spline coincident with the start points of the next one may solve the issue, although I don't know what could happen with the letters, but I guess this is not an expected result as I get different results depending on where does the value of the dimension come from.

Correct scaling:

Wrong scaling:

Thanks in advance for the help.

There’s probably other ways to solve this, but one idea is to convert this to a surface or solid and then use transform scale on the part(s).

@JavierGAT This was not added as part of the original spec.  Transform entities is not persistent so linking is not supported yet.  From a parametric standpoint, I would probably suggest doing a surface and using transform since it will be much more stable especially with sketches that have a lot of unconstrained points like splines and logos.
