Root assembly file not found

ehsan_pazookiehsan_pazooki Member Posts: 52
Hello Guys,

I'm trying to upload and open an assembly file with files of SLDPRT format. But I see this error:

mechanical-watch-11.snapshot.5.zip failed to translate:
Root assembly file not found. Ensure zip file name matches root assembly name and the archive does not have folders.

How can I fix this Error?
Could someone please help me? Thank you very much.

Best Regards
Ehsan Pazooki

What is the name of the top level assembly? If it is my_assembly.sldasm then the zip should be called my_assembly.zip

@NeilCooke I have used the correct name, but it still failed. The folder structure is flat, but there is a compbination of STEP and SW files in the folder
Is there something that can be done to help?

Sounds like you are using 3D Interconnect in SolidWorks which lets you mix file types in an assembly. Onshape does not like this, so it may be easier if you just export the top level assembly as a Parasolid file. Comes in just as well.
