the movement seems to be wrong. can someone explain

    when you have a chain of parts all mated together, such as your arm. Strange things can happen when it's determining which part should be rotating.

    I think if you select the transparent arm assembly, you can kind of see what's happening by looking at the manipulator.

    but if you move the origin of the manipulator to the pivot, you can then rotate at that point
