Need help with imported Part Properties

Is it possible to pull the properties from another source into an imported part without having to manually add?
Example, I have imported a solidworks part but obviously the properties from the template in solidworks does not transfer. I have Onshape connected to OpenBom, so is there a way to pull the existing properties data of that part from OpenBom then?

Put all of the needed properties in the BOM view.
Then copy the columns you want from openBOM into Onshape's BOM.
You may need to export the openBOM to a speadsheet first.. I don't remember, I haven't used openBOM since Onshape introduced theirs.
