'123D Make'-'Slicer' equivalent frame/slot featurescript?

I am wondering if there is a feature script out there that does the same thing '123D make' did in the past where you could take a shape and it would make a grid of flat panels that would then be slot cut so you could make a slot together model of the part. They then rolled that software into Autodesk slicer which now it no longer exists. Without it my workflow is very tedious. Now I know you can use the "laser joint" feature script but it will not make slot cuts in two parts. Then you can try and use the 'lap joint 'feature script and it almost does what I need but if the two parts are not flush at the top it does not really cut a slot in both parts and it does not handle multiple bodies at once. Any suggestions?

In the end I am trying to acheive something like this http://responsivedesign.de/cardboard-surfboards-i-quarter-iso-grid/

Here is a article on what I am talking about with 123D make http://fab.cba.mit.edu/classes/863.13/people/charles/04/index.html .
