Instructor Kit: In-context part design 2 (Step 10)

I am trying to make a cut to remove the inside face.
The tutorial says I need to choose a specific end type.
No matter which I use I end up with a cut all the way through, or not at all.

    This topic may help. https://forum.onshape.com/discussion/1133/extrude-remove-offset-from-surface-to-retain-wall-thickness

Contrary to what the tutorial mentioned by @josh_baker673seems to me to imply, there is currently no "offset from surface" end condition in Onshape

Another option to create this cavity would be "Shell", and this would automatically maintain a constant thickness in the end wall. However it would not make use of the existing offset sketch geometry.

Thanks for the first idea. The shell command was my first instinct but it didn't work.

The instructor kit I think needs some updating. I am teaching a group of high school students and I am making sure I hit the problems before they do.

    Hi @josh_baker673,

You are right, there is no way to do that currently – those steps are based on old functionality that has since been updated. We will post a fix to this in an updated version of the kit soon. Thanks for catching it!

Any update for this problem yet?

Thanks for checking in @james_famigletti. The Instructor Kit has been fixed for a while and thanks to your reminder, the Intro to CAD Series was just fixed. You can find the most up to date version at either of those links.
