Align views via Navigation Cube without zooming out.

erik_bongerserik_bongers Member Posts: 14 ✭✭
When working on a sketch, I may occasionally 'look around the corner' to find a reference point or something. When I want to re-align my sketch (Front, Top,...), I use the Navigation Cube...but it always completely zooms out!
This is quite annoying when working on a detail. I always have to zoom in again. How can I align the view again without zooming out?

You can select the face you want to look at and press "N". The Part will show you the normal view on this face and wont zoom out.

By hitting "N" again, it shows you the exact opposite site of your selected view.

Plus you don’t have to select a face, just hover over it.

Shift 1-7 are super useful hotkeys. I almost never touch the cube to orient the view.

This works in sketches, parts and assemblies. And if you then want the same perspective but see the whole part, press "F". F shows everything in every angle you set model.

Thank you all for the quick replies! N is indeed a golden shortcut.
The shift 1-7 still zoom out. And also, I prefer the Blender navigation shortcuts, which uses the numeric keypad to quickly orient the views, and with only *one* key, not a combination.
