Removing material

Your part has something that I’m guessing, you did not want

Now there is such a thing regarding the direction that an extrude will or can take

The default extrude tool extrudes in a direction that is NORMAL TO your sketche’s plane, and that’s why your part has that portion left In the top right hand corner

There are extrude featurescripts that allow you to set a direction for your extrude

Here’s an extrude where a segment was used to set the direction

Here is a little more of what can be done with the extrude tool (featurescript)

This part was made with ONE SKETCH on the top plane, followed by seven extrudes

All but the 1st and 4th extrudes, used the SECOND END POSITION ability of the extrude tool, in order to get things positioned at various elevations (Z heights)

steve_shubin thanks for posting that method of controlling extrudes. Until now I always viewed 'Second end position' as adding material opposite to the first direction. That's pretty cool, using the second direction to create an offset from the sketch plane to define the Second end position. Some simple math can keep some planes and sketches out of the feature tree; very clean.
