Hi S1mon,
Yes, the Onshape-Arena integration support for Enterprise was rolled out in a previous update. If interested, I would recommend reaching out to your Arena solution consultant and I'm sure that more features and information on the integration will be available in the future.
Or can you drive a variable from a sketch using the "current sketch" geometry, (that would be different...)?
Non-circular detail views will be nice although a rectangle would have been nice, and we still need the option to hide the border in the detail itself!
The PCB Studio has a lot of potential, I gave it a quick go and it seems straightforward enough. I ran into a couple issues with some parts not showing up but I'm sure these are teething issues and I am really looking forward to trying out the "keepout" features as this has always been the hardest part to get across to the electrical guys!
So any user can have the functions out of the box, rather than browsing a forum to find some user's featurescript, that may or may not be buggy or managed...
Personally, nothing compares to the simplicity and intuitive usage of Measure Value (onshape.com)
Measure to variable | Measure to variable (onshape.com) was supposed to be the 'prelude' to what we got this update.
But this and the one that we gained through Onshape are not very intuitive.
I just don't see the need to break up the UI into many tabs, "Distance, length' diameter" etc.
I'm more of a select first, then mess with parameters second type. So, I always end up selecting my points twice, 'cause I was in the wrong #&@$ menu...
Or I kept getting confused to why I wasn't able to select certain objects.
Maybe it's just me, but usually if I can't figure it out quickly, then I don't have much hope for less experienced users...
I mean, this way is so much cleaner, and doesn't have you making filtered selections which add to confusion.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I ALMOST feel guilty for gently prodding for parametric selection sets (Ilya ) . . .
