When creating new sketches, you cannot automatically join a segment located on another sketch, even if this one is visible as long as a tool is selected. to join two entities, it is necessary to disengage the current tool to then be able to use the constraints. That's a shame.

If the later sketch is on the same sketch plane it will automatically create inferences.

I just make my whole sketch first and just get it close, then come back after and attach everything. If the sketch tool inferenced everything that's visible, I think it'd be a major pain to use.
