Text extrude cut generation & automation

Nath_McCNath_McC Member Posts: 127 PRO
Hi All,

I have a part file that I want to automate the text generation on it. I would like to have the model for each text example D1.01 to D1.26, D2.01 to D2.26, D3... D4 etc

With over a couple hundred versions, I was hoping somebody knew how to automate the text cutout generation.

Any help would be appreciated.

See this thread. Also, if you need to generate the pattern of text, it may be easier to do that with a spreadsheet and then paste that into the configuration table to create all the options.

@S1mon Thank you for that! Makes my life a lot easier. So some reason, I didn't think about configurations for some stupid reason.

Do you know a quick way to export every configuration as an STL in one go?

Yes, in the part studio with your configuration, right click on the generated part and select export as STL, and give exported file the name you wish

@dirk_van_der_vaartThat exports only the active configuration, but not all

It is not possible and also I doubt that it is recommended.
Think that for example, you can define a variable with the length in a configuration, so you would have infinite configurations of these components
