It's hard to tell without looking at the actual part studio, but it looks like you're trying to remove part of a mesh body. Whether you're adding/removing to/from a mesh/solid/surface body, Onshape doesn't like degenerate geometry. Check to make sure you're not leaving an knife edges or line to line geometry. If you share a link I'm sure someone here can take a closer look. Also check out these posting guidelines for future reference.

I would highly recommend remodeling something like this as a regular solid part since the features are so simple, but I went ahead and figured out how to fix the issue that you're having. I ended up changing the sketch a bit and using split instead. Interestingly, if I didn't add those "extra" lines outside the part, the split tried to extend the half circle to be a full circle. I have't done anything with STL/3MF imports before, so I'm really not sure how fussy they are, but anyway...

S1mon. I did something similar with the original sketch and it worked fine. I modeled this in Onshape originally, this was just an exercise to see how easy modifying an imported model would be. There is a chamfer at the bottom of that part, maybe that has something to do with it.
