Combining multiple sketches into one sketch

_Carbyne__Carbyne_ Member Posts: 17 EDU
Hello,

I would like to combine multiple sketches (30+ sketches) into one sketch so that I can export the sketch into Rhino for laser cutting. The sketches are very detailed and some have thousands of sketch entities. Any ideas of how I can do this quickly? Copy and pasting each sketch will work, but is there a way to copy and paste multiple sketches at once?

For reference, here's one of the parts I'd like to laser cut:

Do it in a drawing and insert all the sketches. You'll need a view of a part first, which could be the outline shown above.

But how do you place the sketches accurately onto the part/drawing? There's no points to snap to, it's in freeform.

No it’s not. Add the view of the part (if there is no part, extrude the outline of the “paper” your logos are printed on). Then right click the view and “insert sketches”. They will be in the exact location.

Could you send photos or a short video of what you're talking about? I'm not really catching on.

Look's like you want to edit some DXF file's and merge them , you can do this with Onshape but Onshape is really more for 3D modeling.

Not got time to make a video, but here is a doc

and here is a pic (I got the naming wrong, it is show/hide > show/hide sketches)

Oh wow it works, thank you Neil! Also, should I export it as DWG or DXF into Rhino 7? Which one has a higher quality? Google says both files have similar quality, but DWG has a smaller file size.

DWG is native AutoCAD format where DXF is a neutral file format. Go with DWG if you can.
