Loft issues

Hi guys, Im working in Onshape only few weeks. I have now order to create hoover nozzle so I need to make loft from rectangle part to circle. Really I spend today 7 hours to figure it out how to make it without twist. Ive tried paths and other things but without success. Can some help me and show me how to do it? My boss made in invertor in 20 minutes.

Split the circle sketch into four symmetric pieces, and play with the dimensions of where on the circle you place the splits.

Wow, thank you so much! it is so simple 🤦‍♂️ one more question if you dont mind. How can I set thinkness of grey part now?

I have an other question . When I want to set thickness, I did loft solid and then used shell. But the hole on top of the loft isnt good. Any ideas how to solve it?

First make the outside of the shape complete with the top part added and when the outside is ready with fillets etc then apply shell.
And when you want that some section's of the shell to have a different thicknes use the move face command.

Im sorry but Ive stuck on shell. Is it any chance to recreate this in onshape?

As I said before, my boss made it in invertor but I really want to know, how to make it in onshape.

Hi Robin, it looks like the model from Inventor has been made in an unusual way. If you get your boss to show you how they did it in Inventor, then you'll be able to follow the exact same steps in Onshape.

He showed me and he made it with 4 mouse clicks. Invertor asked him how he want to connect rectangle with circle and it shows him 3 different types so he just chose what it was best for him.

This was not modelled as a "square-to-round" though, as shown by the arrow. I can't imagine what the geometry was like before the loft.

Maybe he used fillet? May I ask you, how to solve this shell on loft? Im lost how to make nice clean circle hole.

Add the cylinder on top before adding shell.

Although, it's still a really bad shape - you will not be able to get fillets on it unless you make the cylinder smaller.
