Can't open Step files

Hello,
I'm trying to modify some STL files, so I converted them into STEP files.
I can open and work the files on a different CAD on both PC and Ipad, but I can't open them with Onshape:
Some files can be opened but they only shows lines. No surfaces or shapes;
Some file shows their preview on ipad but I can't open them.
Some files shows this, if I try to open them:
