What is the best way to extract or make a sketch of this profile?

I tried to use Use but got the "Some of the face edges could not be used in the sketch." message.

Here is the model sectioned showing the profile I would like to capture.

The best way will be to manually sketch it while viewing it in section view like you have it. Once you have the general shape constrained properly, you can attach the vertices to the important vertices of the mesh; then delete those constraints and add dimensions. It's kind of a swapping technique: constrain to model, delete external constraints, add dimensions. This will ensure the profile is the exact size of the original reference.
