How to find the intersection point

brian_deasybrian_deasy Member Posts: 9
Hi,
I am modelling a bike wheel.  I have drawn the spokes but looking again at the wheel, the orange and blue spokes (that finish at the bottom of the image) should cross over each other.  This means that the spokes are not straight then.  They both bend at the point at which they cross.  I think this provides reinforcement to the spokes and the wheel by providing tension.  How can I find the point at which they should cross without having to guess or draw it in cad?

Thanks for your help with this.

So I turned on the planes that I used to create the spokes.  By selecting them I can create the plane that splits the two but how do I find that intersection line when I start a sketch?

    Thanks for that.

The angle of the crossing will be dependent of the profile and size of the spoke.

For 28 spokes there are 2 or 3 crossings happening depending on the spiking pattern. This will result in 1 or 2 contact points per spoke.
