Can I make a shape in sketch 1 and copy&paste it into sketch 2?

I want to make a shape in my first sketch, copy it and extrude. Then I want to paste that sketch in to my second sketch, maybe even alter it then do another extrude. Is this possible? Or should I just start sketch 2 with sketch one visible in hopes of being able to trace the exact shape again?

While in the sketch, select the entities you want to duplicate, right click and choose 'Copy sketch entities' from the context menu. After this, open the sketch you want to paste them into, right click, and choose 'Paste sketch entities'.Jake RamsleyDirector of Quality Engineering & Release Manager onshape.com5

Even if you alter the shape of first sketch after copying the sketch entities, it will take original sketch entities after paste operation.5
