Search Custom Property in Classroom Documents

edward_petrilloedward_petrillo Member Posts: 100 EDU

I have created a custom property "293 Part Type" in the Classroom Settings of my Educator Account. I've been able to set the value of the property for parts, and the property is visible in document BOM's. However, I am unable use the property as a search criterion as described in these instructions:

When I select in the "Add Criteria" section of the Advanced Search dialog I get this result- note the black "X"-and the search fails to return any results

What am I missing? Thanks

@joshtargo I filed a support ticket soon after my October 24 post. Here's an excerpt from @lougallo's reply:

A configured property is something that is linked to a part or assembly that has configurations so you can set properties for those configured things. Today you cannot search for configured parts yet.  I will add you to the request for this.  Today only unconfigured properties can be found with search.

    Your support ticket:

"Search Documents by Custom Property in Educator Account"

has been marked as an improvement request. Onshape development will evaluate the request and we will notify you if/when this has been implemented. Thank you for helping us make Onshape awesome!

but they are not configured properties, they are just regular properties. Even the built in onshape properties like Classification don't yield results if I add list items to them
