@nn_e - As a test, see if you can extrude the inner profile area - If it extrudes you know the endpoint is constrained correctly. I suspect that it actually is constrained, but just appears not to be on the viewing screen because of line tessellation (this appears to get worse the tighter you zoom in). It's just the normal way the graphics are rendered on your screen. In time you'll learn to ignore it.
Edit - The blue dot on the last screenshot is the point's true location - and if constrained the black line does go through that location, in reality (just a rendering glitch on the screen)
