cad.new down?

Is it just me, or is the cad.new shortcut (domainname.TLD) no longer working?

From that post- it seemed to be fixed but is now down again. Anything I can do to help, @john_rousseau ?

How was it done before, a permanent 301 redirect? Or with a rewrite in the .htaccess file?

    # Ensure RewriteEngine is enabled
    RewriteEngine On

    # Redirect cad.new to https://cad.onshape.com/new
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^cad\.new$ [NC]
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://cad.onshape.com/new [R=301,L]

Not sure how it was done before- if I remember correctly it was either @NeilCooke or @mlaflecheCAD who bought the domain originally?

Hi @fnxf. TMI: Originally Google hosted the .new domain. They did the registration, DNS service and redirect. We wanted to consolidate this under the registrar that PTC uses, so we moved the registration there and started using AWS Route53 for DNS service. We implemented the redirect in AWS. What we're seeing is that some places can resolve cad.new and some places can't. We've had tickets open with the new registrar, PTC IT, AWS, but nobody has come up with the answer. It's something that I want to get back to, but there are higher priorities.

HI @john_rousseau . Totally not TMI, that's very interesting. For the moment https://cad.onshape.com/new is a good workaround. I do understand that there are higher priorities ATM. Thanks for your answer!
