Is there a way of changing a variable value for copies of a part?

I have a part made from a sketch which dimensions are defined by variables.
I would like to make copies of this part but be able to change the some dimensions only for those copies.
I tried to change the variables values before the copy (transform) of my part, but those new values are not reapplied to my copies.
Is there a way of doing such a thing?

Workaround would be duplicating that part studio with different names so you can easily control variable values (disadvantage is that you need to update possible changes to each)
If you need all those parts in same part studio, create new ps and use derive to bring them in.//rami5 -
