That is the price of Onshape Professional, so yes.
From an .edu perspective, it looks like Keyshot is much cheaper. Onshape Pro includes other features, but if that’s the only thing that you want…

And Keyshot can do a better job at setting up and creating a nice rendering much faster. But I like the idea of Render Studio referencing the same data I work on. So, depending on what is needed and how often, both might have their point: If I only had to do renderings of the final design once, I'd chose Keyshot. If I'd have to render proposed variants and configs frequently as the project evolves, I'd go with Render Studio. If you're on a commercial license anyway, it is only be the difference from the Standard to Pro plan, and that's currently $1000/yr.
That works with Sketchup too, so maybe that is the way…
