CUTTING hole in side dome

hi to all the greta team here

very stupid issue however…

i made this dome and trying to make a cut hole however no matter what i tired it does not cut… any reason where i am wrong?

    Looks like you're trying to cut a surface with a solid? That won't work.

    either make the dome solid (using thicken?) or make a surface extrude and split the dome surface.

    but if I look at the whole objective of designing a suction cup, probably I'd opt for drawing the section in one sketch and revolving it.

    You can use your extrude, just change it to a new surface. then use it to split the dome and remove the hole.
