Top Level Assembly - Poor Performance

Marcus_PottingerMarcus_Pottinger Member Posts: 2

Hi,

My top level assembly model has ~15,000 instances, which requires a 60 second mate solve time. This asm is pretty much unusable on screen and lags horribly on rotate. When bringing a few large subassemblies together - mated to a connector offset from the origin so should be fully independent - I am getting mate errors that do not appear if I assemble these large sub-assemblies into a new assembly with a similar offset-origin mating strategy. Sometimes this can be fixed by replacing the sub-assembly with itself at the same version, other times it can't be resolved without locking some of the internal movement.

Does anyone have experience with models this large, and are they able to make theirs work more efficiently?

Thanks.

Hi Marcus, mate solve time for good performance should be less than one second. Please speak to your customer success manager and we can set up a call to see what’s going on.
