How to stop Onshape from Projecting Hidden lines and features onto in a new sketch?

andrew_chao661andrew_chao661 Member Posts: 2

Hi all, im a high school student using Onshape. I have an issue that's not serious, just annoying, whenever I am creating new sketches - Onshape automatically likes to 'project' features from other parts behind the sketch when I hover my mouse over the sketch - even when I have not used the Project/Convert (u) tool. Is there a way for me to make it so only lines on the sketch are able to be selected?

This is the sketch ←- All other sketches are hidden and parts behind the sketch are also hidden - its just a circle with a hole in the center

Now when I hover my mouse over the sketch - you can see Onshape gives me prompts to select features from other hidden sketches/parts in orange ←- how do I make it now show the orange stuff?

Anyone got a solution to this? Thanks!

I'm guessing these lines are the outline of face you placed your sketch on. If you don't want these to be included in the your sketch you can check the "Disable imprinting" box.

I think selecting the sketch from the history list on the left also ignores imprinting.
