was wondering how i could get Onshape to straighten my flange,

Opening the SM view will show the flat view. If you're looking to see a flange fold and unfold in the design view you'll have to use the sheet metal flange tool instead of the more automated convert to sheet metal. Then the flange feature can be suppressed and unsuppressed. Things like the slot in your clip can be made in design or flat view.
