Electronics STEP import

Hi there,
I was a SolidWorks user, and I am new to Onshape. For my workflow, I often have to export PCB 3D models from KiCAD and import it into my other CAD software to design mechanical parts around it. Usually, these stp files for electronics would have an insane number of parts.
I am trying to CAD up a case for a LattePanada Sigma, whose 3D model can be found here. I have created a composite part out of the stp file and found that it is so painfully slow to do any operation on it. A single linear Z transform would take almost 5 minutes.
Are there any recommanded workflow for design around electronics/PCBs?

Hey @hank_wu543,
people usually work with Onshape's PCB Studio to get PCBs into their CAD software. There is a learning center course here.
This requires Onshape Professional.
Alternatively, I would probably suggest to delete components from your .step import or to create dummy solids/parts and then creating a new .step export and re-importing the simplified version of the PCB to make it lightweight.
Cheers
Can all the parts be booleaned together and then use that part to model around? - Scotty
