How can I make this pill shap cut through the other body like I was moving a hot body through snow?

Here is the screenshot of what I'm trying to do:

That orange pill is what I want to remove from the other body but I want it to make a taller cut than the size of that pill. How can I make that?

I thought I could use a sweep with remove, but it doesn't support solids.

Sweep only supports solids, but you could use the Intersection sketch tool to create a profile of the pill to sweep.

@Matt_Shields I'd have to build an assembly to travel the pill through to check interferences along the path but from my research into implementing a generalized solid sweep feature I think that the intersection curve hack only works when the travel path is completely orthogonal to the revolve axis of the solid, otherwise you aren't capturing the attack angle faces and profile of the little convex bits of the rounded ends of the pill.

@Derek_Van_Allen_BD, good point. I am sweeping a 2D face. That will not ensure that a 3D solid will make it around the corner.

@Matt_Shields yeah that was the first step I took into whitepaper purgatory looking at research for convex contact sets and generalized body sweep algorithms. The parasolid kernel itself does have support for simple revolve body sweep ops though, we just need the developers to lay the groundwork to turn it into an @opBodySweep function for me to play around with.

My experience with that functionality in its Solidworks form was that the surfaces are even worse than typical Parasolid sweeps. Super high density and not very smooth. Sometimes you're better off hand building things.

Another thing to keep in mind - if one is using the feature to create a cam path or to simulate the result of a cutter, there will be some tolerance needed/created by either reality. Adding a slight offset or face move to some of the surfaces might make more sense to prevent the interference rather than trying to create the perfect analytic result.
