How to continue a thread

I can get the thread to start where I want it to, but the thread ends abruptly on the right.

How can I get the thread to continue?

Don't use the actual part for the helix. Instead extrude a cylindrical surface (from the same sketch that you extruded the part) that extends past the part you want to cut the thread into, then put the helix on that surface. The helix will now extend past your part, allowing you to cut all the way past the end of the part.

@jon_woellhaf , You can change thread end as per your requirement by changing helix as shown in below video method.

I found I was able to achieve exactly the result I wanted only by splitting the part 0.1 from the right end, deleting the short piece, and revolving a 60 degree chamfer on both ends. It seems there should be an easier way.

On second thought, I probably didn't need to do the split. Revolving the 60 degree chamfer would have been sufficient.
