How to continue a thread

In this part,
I can get the thread to start where I want it to, but the thread ends abruptly on the right.

øyvind_kaurstad Member Posts: 234 ✭✭✭Don't use the actual part for the helix. Instead extrude a cylindrical surface (from the same sketch that you extruded the part) that extends past the part you want to cut the thread into, then put the helix on that surface. The helix will now extend past your part, allowing you to cut all the way past the end of the part.

On second thought, I probably didn't need to do the split. Revolving the 60 degree chamfer would have been sufficient.
