Extruding a face to a curved line

I am trying to make the face of an extruded part wider at the bottom than it is at the top. I want it to have a gradual curve from the top to the bottom, most likely based on a curved line drawn on a plane perpendicular to the face of the extrusiuon? I can't figure how to do it. I am not really lofting it, and its not really a sweep. It's more like thickening a face with a radius or fillet based on a curve I would draw. I looked through tons of forum posts and videos and I couldn't find anywhere this was covered exactly. The extruded item is a logo that I want to stand up on a desk, so the base needs to be wider than at that top.

Alternatively, extrude larger than you need it and cut the unwanted material away afterwards.Senior Director, Technical Services, EMEA5

Thanks!!! I extruded it more then needed, and then I drew a side profile with a spline for the radius I want to have on the front and back, mirrored it to the other side, then extruded the side profile drawing wider then the logo and used the remove function. Sweet!
