Using a Pet in an Assembly.

james_alfordjames_alford Member Posts: 17
I have created a gear wheel with thirty teeth. I created a sketch with one tooth, replicated it with the circular pattern tool and extruded it to a new part.

I am now trying to use that part in an assembly, placing it onto an axle. However, whenever I try to mate the gear to the axle, it only mates one tooth of the gear. It seems to have been created as thirty rotated parts, not one single entity.

I assume that I made a mistake creating the gear. Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

Thank you.

James.

I have to admit, I read this post purely because of the title.

Bruce: thank you. It has worked perfectly.

Adam: I really should check my spelling first.
