Slider Mate Endpoints

hello all
I have a screw featured with a slider mate (the spin of the thread will be ignored):
If the screw is shifted too far and intersects another part this is marked red:
The limits of the movement can be set in the box. But the distances must be measured out of the assembly manually and transfered into the box.
Can the limits be collected or better defined automatically by another rule (mate)?
I only found the snap mode, but it is limited to the two endpoints without the movement in between - at least as how I use it due to better know how - and one of them needs to be supressed all the time. I am not aware of the right technique.
Thanks in advance for demystifing it. best
