When i click on new drawing and select the template i want to use, all that loads is an empty sheet not even a drawing sheet is loaded. No views of the part or anything can be added.

If you started a drawing from the + button you will need to click the insert view button on the far left of the toolbar. An auto 4 view can be created from right clicking on a part or a tab and select Create drawing.

This sounds like it could be a problem with a custom template. A screen shot of what you are seeing and some background of how the template was made would be helpful.

I am having the same problem. I have not been able to generate a drawing template. When I try, there is just a blank sheet with no parts, assemblies, or template elements

If you want to make your own template you can import a dxf or dwg, there is a button towards the right of the drawing toolbar.

You can make your own by drawing it as a sketch in a part studio and exporting as a dxf/ dwg.

Oshape also has some default ANSI and ISO templates.

Have you tried the drawing course in
