In our latest update (8/23/2016) we added the ability to "Like" a public document as one of the many new features.  In addition to this, you can see the number of links (when someone uses it in a linked document) and the number of copies made.  Not only is this useful for the creator but gives great visibility to the usage and impression a document has to the entire Onshape community.

You can "like" a public model from the documents page in the info panel (as seen above) or from within a public document in the top header:

Why am I mentioning this again?  Well we have a long standing tradition, both internal to Onshape as well as in our community at large, of holding a "Public Model of the Week" contest for anyone to submit their public designs to be voted on by the community in the hopes of winning Onshape swag.  However as the Onshape nation grew, selecting models to vote on in the forum became a difficult task to maintain.  Now with the "like" feature, we have a natural way of voting right inside of Onshape!

In the coming weeks we will start up our public model of the week contest again but in the meantime, if you are looking at public documents and you like what you see, give it a !
