An helix neither conical nor cylindrical !

Dear all,

I need to build a 3D model for a triangular ring

I didn't figure that the helix function is using either conical or cylindrical surface...Any idea of the way I would generate the right path to then do a sweep ?!

@the_war_lab, Lou used a tried and true method for constructing custom helical profiles. He intersected a triangular extrusion with a helical, auger-like surface. This can be applied to whatever shape you can imagine.
