Hi,
I've found a .iges file on internet for a generator that I want to merge into one of my onshape CAD. My problem is that this file is way too big for my computer to run it easily. The generator file is 190 MB and I want to merge it into a 3MB assembly. So what I'd like to do is to just create a file that use the generator .iges file to create a surface of the generator, so to reduce the size of my file, but I don't know how I can do this or even if it's possible. Could anyone help me with that please?
Thanks

And wouldn't the import to transfer the file from your machine and into the Onshape cloud be more a function of your network connection?5

I recall voting on a similar improvement request a little while ago.
The intention was to take manufacturer's complex CAD files and from them generate simpler "space representation models / outer surface only shells" for use in things such as factory layouts.
I think Lou mention he was revamping the request / voting system at the moment.
