WegGL Hit a Snag

I have just come across an issue with Onshape.  When I try and use Onshape in chrome I get the error "Rats! WebGL Hit a Snag"
I have googled solutions, but nothing I have found has worked yet.  I have sucessfully run Onshape on Chrome before, this issue has only started happening around the 27th December.
I have tried:
 - Disabled hardware acceleration
 - Verified I have the latest DirectX
 - Updated my graphics card drivers

Onshape will work on Edge but not Chrome.

I am running windows 10 on a Lenovo E550.

Any suggestions??

Thanks,

Jason

@jason_hough,There are a few solutions that have helped, including enabling WebGL, or disabling and enabling it again. How to do this, incl. a few other ideas is described in this Rats! WebGL hit a snag YouTube tutorial, that goes over various Chrome setting screens. You can force-disable webgl and then re-enable it again just to see what happens.
There is a way to check if your browser version supports WebGL. See what this test says: https://get.webgl.org/You should also check to see if hardware rendering is allowed for WebGL on your machine.  This can be found by typing chrome://gpu in the URL and looking at the bottom of the first section "Graphics Feature Status."  If WebGL says that hardware acceleration is disabled, you can attempt force it by navigating to chrome://flags and clicking enable under the first option "Override software rendering list."

    Hi Jason,

    1. What version of Chrome are you using?
    2. If you see any errors at the bottom of the chrome://gpu , can you post it here or share with support?

Edge is not supported, you may want to use a supported browser such as Firefox or Safari, until the issue is resolved.

Just checked if my browser supports WebGL using the above link and what do you know, it doesn't.  No spinning cube for me.

I am using Chrome version 55.0.2883.87 m and it says my Chrome is up to date.

Attached is a copy of what I get when I check the chrome://gpu.  For WebGL is says it is Hardware Accelerated.

I have also attached a screen shot of the chrome://flags after I clicked on Enable under Override DSoftware Rendering List

     using the link
    I

I then rechecked for WebGL availability but still no spinning cube.

Thanks for attaching the logs. Looks like Chrome is definitely having issues.

    - As an experiment , can you try launching Chrome with disable_chromium_framebuffer_multisample? This is described in detail here: https://forum.onshape.com/discussion/4963/onshape-suddenly-reports-webgl-is-not-enabled-in-chrome-is-this-a-bug

If that does not resolve the issue, please file a report with Chromium or let me know and I can file it.

    - You could also try Chrome beta to see if the issue is resolve in the latest version.
