bruce_williams Member, Developers Posts: 842 EDUThe mate connectors are an improvement over using planes. If the desired connector is not available, you may create mate connectors in the part studio or assembly. A trick from @lougallo is to add mate connectors to the origin in assembly which then can be used in place of the standard planes. Here are couple of past discussions on the topic -
