Assembly disection

Hi there
I have an assembly imported from a friend but want the individual components in a part studio, is there a way to separate the assembly and save as separate parts?

Thanks in advance...

    If you import without (Flatten) unchecked, it will import all the parts to separate studios, like it was originally modeled.


    If you import with (Flatten) then it will mash everything into 1 giant part studio
