Drawing angle to vertical line

bill_danielsbill_daniels Member Posts: 278 ✭✭✭
I need to show an angular dimension to a vertical 'center line'.  There are no vertical or horizontal elements in the drawing so I must draw a vertical line from which the angular dimension is drawn.  Each time the line turns red.  What am I doing wrong?

    Hi Bill,

It looks like you are using the two point centerline with one end on an entity and the other floating in free space. The problem with this is that when you refresh, or update, the drawing tries to recalculate where that line should be and fails because it cannot find the entity that determines the second point. Instead, I put the two-point centerline on the edges of the circle. If you would like your artificial line to extend out farther you can delete the dimension, grab the highest grip point on the line, drag it up where you want it, and then add the dimension.

Hope that helps, and let me know if you have any other questions!

    Best,

    Mike
