Dimension between edge (line) and circle

andreas_scholzandreas_scholz Member Posts: 14
In drawing mode there are 3 ways to create dimensions:
  1. point to point
  2. point to line
  3. line to line
But how can I create for example a dimension between a line and a circle (arc). I did not find a solution for that.

Who can help me here?

Regards

Andreas

Hi Andreas.  If you create a dimension between a line and the centerpoint of a circle (arc), you can then hover over the dimension, click down on the brown circle that appears over the centerpoint and drag that dimension attachment point to the circle or arc.  The reason it behaves as it does when creating dimensions is most times you want a dimension to the centerpoint, so we made that the default behavior.  Thanks -Bob

You can also use Shift-Q to turn on circle quadrants which are points you can dimension to.
